2023 EDITION
The Rome Independent Cinema Festival 2023 comes on the 28th of September for an evening filled with indie shorts and feature films. Housed once again in the refined and historical Casa del Cinema in the Casina delle Rose in Villa Borghese, RICF aims to create a unique cinematic experience for a local and international audience.
THE SHE-WOLF OF ROME
The She-Wolf played a core role in Rome’s founding by Romulus, the founder of Rome. In fact, she has been the symbol of Rome for the past 28 centuries. Rome Independent Cinema Festival (RICF), is showcasing this symbol of female empowerment by honouring her existence before the eventful importance of her feminine nature. A lot is left to our imagination to think and discover as to who the She Wolf could have been, yet this symbol of affection and strength, that surpasses the generated gap and stereotypes between animals and humans leaves us moved and emotional.

The festival's aim is to merge a cultural, inspiring program with an entertaining event, where people can have a unique experience of being artistically stimulated, while having a fun evening, meeting likeminded people in the open-air, Casa del Cinema of Rome.

The Venue
Casa del Cinema
In Villa Borghese, the Casa del Cinema comprises three projection halls, an exhibition space, and a 300-seat outdoor theatre. We are honored to be working with the beautiful outdoor venue in the gated area of Villa Borghese and we look forward to putting on a spectacular screening showcasing everything from documentaries to shorts, indie flicks and art-house classics and host a regular program of retrospectives and film-related events.
